Book Overview

Caught in the Crossfire

The Inside Story of Pakistan’s Secret Services

The book “Caught in the Crossfire – The Inside Story of Pakistan’s Secret Services”, is primarily a reflection of author’s story of fighting the war for his country as an invisible warrior for almost three decades; making surreptitious entries to sneak out information from enemy’s strong hold to counter their malicious designs against his country and operating under tornado of live bullets, to foul enemy’s efforts as a counterintelligence operative.

All the relevant details have been molded into an absorbing narration of the military history of South Asia, with reference to the security challenges for Pakistan.

The author believes that all international strategic maneuverings in the region, mostly rely on information that is entirely fabricated and portrayed by Pakistan’s adversaries to harm its interests. Considering his personal experiences a virtuous material for the analyst to ponder history through an authentic premise and predict futuristic security scenarios based on a realistic perspective, he thought of writing this book. The crux of the story is the author’s perception of powerplay in South Asia by the regional and international power brokers which he believes will be a fruitful read to contemplate ‘the changing world order’ more realistically.

The author has presented his narrative in shape of a memoir of his lifelong experiences in a cohesive manner, taking full measure of individuals, institutions and organisations that made strong impressions on his life and in the process, he has made an attempt to take the reader along the curve he followed so that they can clearly grasp the dynamics that drive the life of a Pakistani soldier.
